Your business life will be smoother if you keep tabs on your finances. You’ll need to do that for taxes and other business needs. Set up a filing system.

You don’t simply want to have your drawers full of loose paper that you have to sort through every time you want to find something! Some basic files to make: A file for every client. A file for that month’s “paid out” receipts and invoices. The same kind of file for “paid-in” invoices/receipts. A separate file with the same info plus profits for each month. A file for the ended tax year plus your returns for that year. Also create any files you feel are important to your business.
